August 2008 - As hybrid as it gets! TerraTec’s New Cinergy HTC USB XS HD
with DVB-T, DVB-C, Analog TV and Radio Reception and HDTV Support
Hybrid technology is all about diversity and options. And people who opt for the new Cinergy HTC USB XS HD have all the options covered when it comes to reception and media. Made by the Nettetal-based multimedia specialist TerraTec Electronic, this TV stick is able to receive DVB-T, DVB-C, and even analog signals. Equipped with the necessary codec set, it is even ready for HDTV. Analog video and audio inputs as well as onboard DVB-T, DVB C, and an FM radio neatly wrap up this media-enabling package. The USB 2.0 stick is available with a 99.99 euro price tag.
The new Cinergy HTC USB XS HD also comes with a very special value-adding feature - TerraTec Home Cinema software. It covers the full range of TV applications, and turns notebooks and PCs into powerful video recorders with manual or remote control, even via Internet or mobile phone. It records not only in the broadcast MPEG2 format, but also directly in space-saving Windows Media and other formats such as DivX. High-resolution HDTV signals are stored in the original H.264 broadcast format. Alongside handy features such as station and favorites management, THC also offers a remarkably convenient electronic program guide optimized specifically for this application. Much like Google, the EPG’s keyword search function finds specific TV broadcasts, which users can then program at will.
And there is even more freedom from the constraints of space and time for users to enjoy! With the new NOXON Home Server, viewers can watch a select broadcast – say, a sports event - via a website hosted on the home computer from anywhere on the world, and even on the job. No further hardware or software is required. Simply open the browser to watch TV broadcasts such as football matches, listen to the radio, or play archived tracks. The integrated Boss Is Coming! function helps avoid potentially embarrassing situations: If the supervisor happens to stop by, the viewer can minimize the entire application, mute the audio, and activate the time-shift function with a single THC key combination. When the boss moves on again, the viewer can resume watching the broadcast at the point of interruption and never miss a goal!
Like TerraTec’s popular Internet radio NOXON, THC also brings thousands of radio stations from all over the world to users. The My-NOXON.de portal provides this content in remarkably user-friendly formats. Auto Update automatically uploads the latest version of THC to the Cinergy user’s PC. Alongside the aforementioned time-delayed viewing (time-shifting), THC offers energy-saving automatic start-up from standby or sleep modes, programmed recording from the Internet, optional subtitles (teletext and DVB), and integrated cutting software. THC also enables TV shows to be readily streamed within the in-house network. TerraTec Home Cinema supports all prevailing European standards.
