Something very good - TerraTec Electronic’s tremendously popular TV solution Cinergy hybrid T USB XS FM - just got better. No larger than a Swiss Army knife, it now features a stereo FM tuner to satisfy the demands of a growing radio audience. Priced at 99.99 euros (169 CHF), Cinergy hybrid T USB XS FM receives digital as well as analog television signals in stereo quality. The ultra compact TV tuner connects easily and conveniently to notebooks and PCs via USB 2.0. That is all it takes for users to view all analog and digital TV stations available in the area. The hardware with corresponding Elgato software (EyeTV) will be available to the Apple community at the end of January for 129 euros (219 CHF).
This TV stick goes wherever one wishes to take it. At home, it enables the stationary PC to receive digital signals via the house antenna or analog cable connection. Simply plug the handy tuner into the notebook to get TV on the go. The included DVB-T compact antenna facilitates reception in areas with good DVB-T coverage. Users can even enjoy the convenience of living room viewing on the road courtesy of the included remote control.
Beyond enabling digital reception, it also endows computers with a video recorder’s capabilities. TerraTec Home Cinema (THC) offers the perfect tools for this. Time shifting (time-delayed television) is sure to delight every user. It lets viewers interrupt programs and resume viewing later at the same place. Covering the full range of TV applications, THC transforms notebooks and PCs into powerful video recorders that may be controlled manually, remotely, and even via Internet or mobile phone. It also offers multi-tuner support and even picture-in-picture functionality. Alongside its extensive array of station and favorites management tools, THC provides a remarkably convenient search for the electronic program guide. Much like Google, this EPG search finds specific TV broadcasts based on keywords such as the show’s name, featured actors, or directors. Once the software locates the targeted shows, users can program them at will.
The MAGIX software application Movies on CD & DVD TV Edition is also part of the package. With its easily understood user interface, it enables even inexperienced users to quickly remove ads, tune the picture and audio, and create DVD menus.
