With Internet radios and streaming clients making major inroads into home stereo racks, Nettetal-based NOXON Media GmbH is set to roll out another NOXON Internet radio with stylish visuals fit for the living room. Housed in a fetching 43-cm/ 19“ aluminum enclosure, the NOXON A 540 can even stream lossless formats such as Flac and wav. Priced at 249 euros, it will ship at the end of this month.
Internet radio is seeing a mercurial rise in popularity, and NOXON has become the definitive synonym for it. With good reason, because some 14,000 stations are already broadcasting across the Web so these devices can deliver truly diverse and compelling content. There is sure to be something for everyone in an offering as extensive as this. A broadband connection (dsl) is all it takes to get in on the action. Designed to connect to an audio system such as a stereo amp or AV receiver, the NOXON A540 comes without loudspeakers. It features an analog and a digital output, providing a suitable connection to every system. A convenient setup assistant helps users integrate the device into any network, wireline (LAN) or wireless (WLAN).
NOXON A540 does more than merely receive Internet radio broadcasts. It also streams podcasts (pre-recorded audio programs) and plays audio books and music archived on hard disk. Every NOXON device readily connects with the Internet via a wireless or Ethernet link, and this one also sports a USB port for sticks or hard disks.
The Nettetal-based outfit put a premium on design as well as technology when it developed these new products. For example, the company engineered their rotary knobs to raise the bar for user-friendliness, and optimized menus to ensure displays afford a clear view of the many contents. In addition, the NOXON A540 comes in a fetching aluminum housing fronted with a solid aluminum panel.
