TerraTec Electronic’s new TV solution Cinergy S2 USB HD lets users do all this with the greatest ease. Cinergy S2 is a convenient USB box that pipes digital satellite TV signals straight to the computer, in no time at all turning every PC into a second television set. What’s more, it provides full HD support. Priced at 89.99 euros, Cinergy S2 USB HD will hit shelves in mid June.
Setting it up couldn’t be any easier: Simply plug in the sat cable, connect Cinergy S2 USB HD to the computer’s USB port, and install the included TV software TerraTec Home Cinema BASIC. That’s all it takes to enjoy TV on the computer. This handy box provides all the features necessary to transform a notebook, netbook, or desktop computer into a television set with a built-in video recorder and many more functions.
TerraTec Home Cinema BASIC, a software application optimized specifically for TV, adds to the viewing pleasure: All the user has to do is select a sports broadcast using the electronic program guide (EPG). The computer then boots automatically at the start of the program and shuts down again when the show has aired to conserve energy. And the “boss alert” function comes in very hand at the office: If the supervisor stops by during a World Cup match, the viewer can minimize the entire application, mute the audio, and activate the time-shift function. When the boss moves on again, the viewer can resume watching the broadcast at the point of interruption. The viewer never misses a goal – full coverage guaranteed! This application also turns notebooks and PCs into powerful video recorders.
Updates are loaded automatically, ensuring the Cinergy user’s PC always runs the latest version of THC. It offers a host of convenient features beyond the aforementioned time-shifted viewing, including automatic start-up from standby or sleep modes and subtitles (teletext and DVB) that may be hidden and viewed at will. TerraTec Home Cinema Basic supports all prevailing European standards.
