Catch the news in the home office or watch a top soccer match with friends in the den? TerraTec Electronic’s new TV solutions TerraTec S7 and TerraTec H7 let users do both with the greatest ease. TerraTec S7 is a handy USB box equipped with an integrated receiver for satellite television (DVB-S2/DVB-S) and radio. Another new product featuring the same design, TerraTec H7 brings DVB-T and DVB-C signals to all computers and notebooks. Any available USB 2.0 port transforms notebooks and desktop computers into real television sets with full HDTV support (including Dolby Digital) and many ancillary functions. Both come with an integrated CI module for pay TV reception. Cross-platform software for PCs and Macs lets users operate these devices with all personal computers, and easily switch over from a Windows computer in the study to a mobile Mac Book. The company aims to ship the two new TV-solutions TerraTec S7 (169 euros) and TerraTec H7 (149 euros) before the end of April.

A multimedia specialist based in the lower Rhine region, TerraTec transforms the computer into a convenient second TV set with these innovative new products. Users no longer need a set-top box or digital receiver to receive dozens of channels via satellite, cable, or terrestrial antennas. Housed in a stylish chassis, each of the two TerraTec S7 and H7 USB boxes are ready today to bring to the PC high-definition television (HDTV) with the finest audio in Dolby Digital quality. Users can enjoy TV in sharp HD quality in any reception area where programs are broadcast in this quality and in the chosen standard. After all, every modern-day monitor is able to render HDTV images in all their amazing clarity.

TerraTec S7 and TerraTec H7 are suited for universal use courtesy of software developed in Germany for PCs (TerraTec Home Cinema) and Macs (Elgato EyeTV Lite). And they are both so easy to handle. Advanced capabilities such as time-shifted viewing, manual and timer-controlled hard-disk recording without any loss of quality, an electronic program guide (EPG), and video text make for an unprecedented TV experience.

With the benefit of a Conditional Access Module (CAM), even encoded pay TV programs are very easy to receive and record because TerraTec S7 and H7 come with a Common Interface (CI) on board. It accepts a Conditional Access Module (CAM) readily available on the market. This module, in turn, accepts the smartcard that the pay TV operator provides for a fee. These accessories and a contract are all it takes to enjoy pay TV on the computer.

TerraTec’s Premium package includes a range of value-adding extras: High-quality components, a comprehensive software package providing full HDTV support, a 36-month warranty with lifelong technical support, sophisticated design, and sustainable packaging. It also includes a printed manual in German language. Drivers and software – also developed in Germany - come on an included DVD. Regular automatic updates via Internet ensure full compatibility. TerraTec designed this line with environmental concerns in mind, so these products ship in a reusable sheet-metal box.
