Cinergy S2 PCI HD - Questions & Answers

Question 1
My Remote Control does not work.

Answer 1
There can be several reasons for causing this problem. You can find a detailed overview of problems & solutions here ---> Troubleshooting for TERRATEC Remote Control

Question 2
Is it possible to use the Remote Control with other products like a CD-Player or a TV?

Answer 2
No. The Remote Control only works with the Remote Control Editor software included in the TERRATEC Home Cinema. It is possible to program the software but not the Remote Control itself.

Question 3
Is it possible to use the TERRATEC Home Cinema with a Remote Control of a different product?

Answer 3
If the Remote Control is developed for the use with PC´s and capable of simulating keyboard commands, it is possible to use it with the TERRATEC Home Cinema. (for further informations please read the manual of the 'TERRATEC Home Cinema' Software / Remote Control Editor).

Question 4
No / not all channels were found after running a scan.

Answer 4
In this case you could try to import a channel list from the Internet in order to exclude the channel scan as a possible error source. Please open the Channel Editor to imprt the list.
( Start → (All) Programs → TERRATEC → TERRATEC Home Cinema → Tools )

Click on Data → Import channels → import channels from a FTP-Server
Now choose DVB-S signal, a satellite to scan for and you could enable the option ''Delete all channels before import''. Proceed with 'Ok or Next' and close the Channel Editor.

If you now start the TERRATEC Home Cinema, you will have the imported channels at your disposal and could also add the missing channels with the Channel Editor as you please.

Question 5
The Cinergy S2 PCI HD is not recognized in Windows Media Center!

Answer 5
Depending on the Windows version you are using, it is in fact until now, not possible (Windows Vista / XP) to receive DVB-S (digital satellite TV) nor DVB-C (digital cable TV) in these versions of MCE. Furthermore is neither the EPG nor the Videotext function supported.

With the Media Center in Windows 7 it is possible to to receive a signal either using a DVB-S or a DVB-T signal but still no DVB-C nor analog cable TV. So you can use the Cinergy S2 PCI HD without restrictions with the Media Center of Windows 7.

Question 6
Why is the Cinergy S2 PCI HD equipt with an integrated jack for additional power supply?

Answer 6
Some mainbords seem to have problems with delivering a sufficient amount of power to the PCI slots in order to supply the LNB as well. We recommend the use of the addiotional power supply in order to prevent any signal problems.

Question 7
I installed the latest driver and software and read the documentation but my problem still exists.

Answer 7
In this case please contact our service team.
