Question 1
What is the difference between a conventional radio compared to an internet radio?

Answer 1
In shortform, the transmission route and the reception coverage!
Your NOXON iRadio receives the data, unlike ordinary radios, through a digital internet connection. Often this data is enritched with additional text-information, regarding e.g. Songtitels, Artists and so on. Due to the data transmission through the internet, the NOXON is not dependent on radio masts and therefore is not bounded to one transmission area – the radio receives the program from radio streams around the world, just like all the websites you can access from your PC at home.

Question 2
How many stations are available on the NOXON?

Answer 2
The continously growing radio service data base includes in this moment around 11.000 radio stations worldwide and on top of that s it possible to receive additional content like Podcasts (Radio on demand).

Question 3
How can I ensure that, out of 11.000 stations online, I will find a station I like?

Answer 3
The radio stations are accessable through a list where all entries are sorted by name, origin (e.g. stations from Australia) and genre (e.g. Rock). On top the NOXON has addiotional functions for a quick relocating of every single station. You can mark single stations you like as a favourite and by doing so you can later on access these stations directly via your favourite list.

Question 4
How come that, despite the many changes of the internet itself, the NOXON is steadily finding all the radio stations in the world wide web?

Answer 4
In the package included you will find the “vTuner Premium Service”. If you call up the sorted list of internet radio stations on your NOXON, vTuner ensures that:

• all stations are accessable any time, even if the IP-Adress of a single station has changed (which is not unusual with 11.000 active stations world wide)

• the list of the stations is sorted by genre, country and other criteria to ensure that you find stations of your interest quick and easily

Question 5
What do I need in order to use a NOXON?

Answer 5
The requirements to operate your internet radio match the premises needed for e.g. the use of a W-Lan connection with a Laptop.

Requirements are :

• An internet flatrate to ensure that you won´t have any additional cost due to for example a traffic limitation as may be stipulated in your contract – this would gurantee a carefree useage of all possibilities the NOXON provides

• A DSL-Modem and a current router preferable with an integrated Wireless Access Point to operate the NOXON wireless. Nowadays the standard is one product which combines these two devices and in most cases the internet service provider places a device at your disposal.

• In case you want to use the NOXON via W-Lan, you will need the login details given to you by your internet service provider.

Question 6
Can I use the NOXON to listen to music tracks saved on my PC?

Answer 6
Depending on the variant of the NOXON, you will find the “Twonky Media” software included in the package. This software enables you to listen to music which is saved on your PC. Alternatively you could use the Windows Media Player Ver. 11 which also provides this function. You can download the Windows Media Player 11 on the Microsoft homepage.

Question 7
Can I use the NOXON to listen to music tracks saved on my Mac?

Answer 7
The “EyeConnect” software is included in the package, so you can play your music from your MAC on the NOXON.

Question 8
Am I able to play tracks out of my iTunes library?

Answer 8
Using either the “Twonky Media” software on PC or the “EyeConnect” software on MAC enables you to access your iTunes library via the NOXON.

Question 9
My whole music library is saved on an external USB-Drive – can I play the music directly from that drive with the NOXON?

Answer 9
Assuming that the music files have a supported format, you have the following options depending on the NOXON product you bought.

NOXON iRadio for iPod, NOXON 2 radio for iPod, NOXON 2 audio for iPod:

• You can connect the hard disc directly to the USB port of the NOXON and play the music from the disc (technical requirement is a FAT32 formatting). The NOXON recognises the hard disc automatically and you can access the content of the disc via the main menu of the NOXON – of course this also works with USB sticks. So you can use the NOXON even if there is no internet connection available.

• If the hard disc is plugged into a PC or some network device, you can access the data with the NOXON by using a so called “UpnP software” which has to be installed on the system (e.g. Twonky Media or Windows Media Player 11)

NOXON iRadio Cube, NOXON iRadio:

• If the hard disc is plugged into a PC or some network device, you can access the data with the NOXON by using a so called “UpnP software” which has to be installed on the system (e.g. Twonky Media or Windows Media Player 11)

Question 10
Is it possible to play audio tracks from a NAS (Network Attached Storage) without my PC?

Answer 10
The NOXON is able to access the audio files on a NAS device if the data is called on through the UPNP-Service.

Question 11
What music files are supported by the NOXON?

Answer 11
Supported are:

• MP3 (with static or variable bitrate up to 320 kB/s)
• WMA
• WAV (PCM, 44.1 kHz)
• Playlists with M3U and PLS format
