Grabster AV 350 MX - Questions & Answers
Question 1
The software is displaying the picture in black / white only!
Answer 1
This problem could be caused by using the S-Video port of the Grabster AV 350 MX and connect it through an adapter(e.g. SCART) to an external device which is not equiped with a S-Video port. Please use the S-Video port only with devices that have a S-Video port integrated.
Question 2
The software is not displaying a picture.
Answer 2
There are several error sources that could cause this problem, please use the following list to check your system:
- Is the Grabster AV 350 MX connected to a USB 2.0 port? Using a port with less than USB 2.0 would cause that problem because the supplied bandwidth would be to small.
- In case you are using a USB-Hub, please connect the Grabster AV 350 MX directly to your PC.
- The Grabster AV 350 MX should be connected to a port on the backside of the PC because they ensure a stable performance with the maximum bandwidth.
- If you are using a SCART adapter, please set the swith to OUTPUT.
- The ports on the frontside of your video recorder are for signal input only.
- Ensure that the right source is selected in the software. (Compostie, S-Video or SCART)
In case the problem remains, please connect the Grabster AV 350 MX to a different source to localise the error source. A DVD player for example is always equiped with an input for the composite cable as well as one for the S-Video cable, so you could directly connect the Grabster AV 350 MX without using an adapter.
Question 3
The TV picture is displayed with interruptions and / or green artefacts. Something is jamming the sound signal.
Answer 3
In most cases these problems can be pinpointed to the USB ports along with the driver that is currently installed. Normally it helps to install the Microsoft Standard PCI to USB driver.
(Our experience with the performance of this particular driver is that the full bandwidth was supplied on a stable level)
Here is the link for an installation guide!
Furthermore please check if the correct TV standard is choosen, Germany for example is using PAL B/G.
Question 4
Do I have to activate / register the Magix Software?
Answer 4
It is not necessary to register the software because this software version is customised for the use with our products. In case you want to use the software with other hardware than the TERRATEC- or Grabster Series (TV- or FireWire cards) the full version would be required.
Question 5
I installed the latest driver and software and read the documentation but my problem still exists.
